Tuesday 20th August – Windsurf **** The Manor at Felixstowe – cloudy start then sunny periods and hot.

Foil – 18.78 knot max , 17.00 knot ave, 12.41 knot hour, 16.06 knot mile, 35.67 km., 14.24 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Severne 1000 with a Tushingham Storm 5.2.

I was tempted by a trip to Levington as the wind was supposed to go offshore but it was SW first thing so I decided to drive down to Squiz Lane and check out The Manor arriving at nine, it was cloudy but the light drizzle had stopped. I parked easily, in fact it was quiet all morning and quickly set up the foil board and for the second day running I rigged 5.2 launching at 9.30, I thought I had rigged too small as I set off but found the wind line and was soon up and flying doing long runs out to Wadgate Post. With the wind a fraction light at times for a small sail and with it supposed to go offshore I did not venture far today staying in front of the launch beach. The clould thinned and I got some nice sunshine, gybing not quitr as good as yesterday and went in twice, I also hit another fish which sent me flying off the front, another bass sadly bites the dust:( With the tide approaching high the sea lumped up and I was getting knackered so decided to call it a day, I had been out nearly two hours!

Walk.

I then had time to do my exercises before a snack lunch before going around to our old friend Mary as its Tuesday for a top cream cake and cuppa. Mag and I then walked down past Harvest House to the prom and the wind was now well offshore but it was still very warm! We have three days of wind with Thursday and Friday being particularly strong, so might head to Levington tomorrow and might even have a couple of days off???
